wHo We are

Our centre here in Tasmania is a part of an even larger international family. Youth With A Mission is a global movement of Christians from many cultures, age groups, and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. Also known as YWAM (pronounced “WHY-wham”), we unite in a common purpose to know God and to make Him known.

We are a ministry and missions training centre located on the beautiful countryside of Tasmania. Our property sits on a beautiful 200 acre sheep farm on top of a hill; which overlooks the town of Sorell and the sea. Our natural surroundings make for a peaceful and quiet location, perfect for spending time in prayer and worship. There is always plenty of wildlife around and it’s not uncommon to see wallabies roaming around in the fields.

Ministry Leadership Internship

Quarterly

I originally came to Tasmania with the intentions of doing a six month course (PCYM) and then leaving. Here I am, over four years later, in love with where God has me. I am so happy with the adventure God has taken me on, the community of people I am surrounded by, the places I have been, and what I have learned about God and myself in the process. I have experienced an immense amount of healing, transformation, fun, fulfilment, and fruitfulness here in Tassie.

My time in Tassie was awesome. The family feel of the base really helped me open up and learn so much more about God and myself. Plus, the beautiful surroundings remind you of the Creator every day!

The first time I came to YWAM Tasmania for my DTS, I immediately felt at home. Tasmania is a beautiful place to learn about God and grow closer to Him, and I have absolutely loved being part of the YWAM family here as staff.

While in Tassie, I experienced a lot of healing not just physically, but emotionally as well. It was a place where I finally felt free from my brokenness – accepting only what the Father thinks of me.
