The Adventure & Transformation DTS is a remarkable experience that will give you the opportunity to fully focus on Jesus, hear His voice and step into the calling He has for your life. You will be stretched in your faith as you learn more about yourself and discover the heart of God for the world He has made.

God does not call His people to live a boring life. He didn’t in the New Testament and He doesn’t now. Being located in the adventure capital of Australia, means YWAM Tasmania is the perfect place to explore how the adventure of following Jesus, and the adventure of exploring the world, can work hand in hand. During this DTS, we will explore some of the most stunning landscape in the world. In lecture phase, we will understand the adventure of journeying with God on His ‘Great Commission.’ Whilst during outreach phase, we will go on this adventure of seeing God at work in the nations.

So why Transformation? Well, we are not called to just go on this adventure but to transform the places we go to, whilst also being transformed ourselves. So why don’t you join us in September for our Adventure and Transformation DTS. Spaces are available!

lecture phase

The first part of the adventure is all about getting to know God. Throughout the lecture phase, we will learn from multiple teachers and guest speakers about who God is and His heart for missions.

During one week of the lecture phase, you’ll also be a part of a unique learning experience called the Niko program. Niko is a Greek word which means “to conquer or to overcome.” It is a five-day wilderness leadership training program where you take risks to discover more about who God has made you to be. Your learning environment will be the great outdoors, the classroom of life. You will learn skills vital to working as a team, being a leader, and pushing yourself beyond limits you thought you could never overcome. As an individual or a group you learn to surrender your individual rights and learn new levels of interdependence with others. The most important aspect is to grow in your dependence on God.

outreach phase

This part of the adventure is all about making God known. Outreach will involve sharing God’s transforming love with people who desperately need it. There are communities all over the globe lacking the basic necessities of life: food, water, clothing, shelter and health care. People are crying out for someone to come alongside them as the hands and feet of Christ to show them the love of the Father.

Our DTS outreach teams go and find the lost wherever they are, and then demonstrate the love of God in whatever way they can. Our heart is to go where there is physical and spiritual need and practically demonstrate God’s love by helping to meet those needs. It’s all about bringing the love of Christ to people through our lives and through the gifts that God has given us.

Whichever outreach location you choose, you will grow in confidence as you see God using you to show His love to others and gain a greater perspective of the world and what God is doing.
